Liverpool Medical Institution is one of the oldest medical societies in the world. It traces its origins to the founding of the Liverpool Medical Library in 1779. The present grade II* listed building was opened in May 1837 and in 1998 underwent a major refurbishment. It is a jewel in the history of both Liverpool and medicine.
Liverpool Medical Institution exists to foster an environment for furthering medical education and knowledge. We are a multi-disciplinary and multi-specialty postgraduate level organisation with a varied programme of weekly meetings.
