1914 Living Room with Gramophone

Gramophone music is particularly evocative of the First World War era. Visitors were invited to listen to some of the music of the day as it would have been heard at the time, with the generous loan of two original portable trench gramophones. These artefacts were set up within a mock 1914 living room in the LMI's Main Library and carefully operated by trained volunteers. You can listen to some of the music below.
