TRAVEL & PARKING

Road

Road Closures

The redevelopment of the Royal Liverpool University Hospital has resulted in lane restrictions and a temporary one-way system (Crown Street to Low Hill including West Derby Street) until October 2019.

The Churchill Way flyovers in Liverpool city centre are closed and will be dismantled over a three-month period between September and December 2019. The diversion routes are as follows:

North Flyover - Traffic on Tithebarn Street will be directed to take a left on Vauxhall Road then right on to Leeds Street, then right on to Byrom Street and up Hunter Street to the junction with St Anne Street and into the city centre.

South Flyover - Traffic on Lime Street will be directed to continue onto Commutation Row then left onto Islington, down on to Hunter Street then left onto Byrom Street into the city centre - where they can access lower Dale Street from the tunnel roundabout. Equally traffic on Hunter Street can continue north on the A59 and then take a left at Leeds Street to access the waterfront.

Parking

Parking

The LMI has its own small car park at the rear of the building (behind the TSB Bank). The car park opening hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm, although it can be open earlier or later than this in accordance with our event bookings. Please ask a member of staff before leaving your car in the car park outside normal opening hours. Failure to do so may result in your vehicle being locked in the car park. *

Parking bays are generally allocated on a first come first served basis, however LMI reserves the right to cordon off parking spaces at its own discretion for staff, visitors with mobility issues and persons loading and unloading goods. In the event that all parking bays are occupied, LMI may restrict access to the car park to pedestrians only.**

Should parking not be available at LMI, there are a number of car parks near to the LMI, which may have spaces. These are shown on the map below. Please be aware that LMI does not control or maintain these sites and their opening hours and prices may change. We advise that you check their websites for updates when planning your journey.

The four alternative car parks shown above are not operated by LMI. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that the information above is accurate and up to date, it is the driver's responsibility to check opening times and prices with the operator.

*The car park gates will be closed outside normal opening hours regardless of whether parked vehicles have been left inside. Retrieval of vehicles left in the LMI car park without prior consent and outside of the normal opening hours is subject to a £50 fine.

**Staff decisions on the opening and closing of the LMI car park are to be considered final and abusive or aggressive behaviour towards staff or other car park users will not be tolerated. Persons exhibiting such behaviour may be asked to leave the premises.
